Nothing better than farm fresh produce! Summer is the time for berries, and we are blessed to have so many small farms a short drive from Columbus! I hope this list helps you find some farm options....picking, fresh markets both, we encourage you to support local! Be sure to call ahead to confirm as weather conditions could effect the picking options. Many of the farms also keep their Facebook Pages updated for when they are open for picking. Here's a list of the best months for Berry picking, as well as the closest spots available!
  • Strawberries: Late May – Early June (continuous for everbearing patches)
  • Raspberries: Early/mid June through early July, some varieties through October.
  • Black Raspberries: Mid-June through early July, some varieties have additional fall crop. Note that some black raspberries have thorns on the plants, so be cautious if taking children to pick.
  • Blueberries: June through July, depending on varieties
  • Blackberries: Early July through August
  • Cherries: Mid-June through early July
  • Peaches: July through September, depending on variety.
