New Children’s Book About Trying New Foods

Just Try It, Georgie!

By Christy Sturtz October 18, 2016

Local author, Christy Sturtz, recently published her first book Just Try It, Georgie!  In the story, Georgie the Giraffe doesn’t want to try new foods, including any of the foods giraffes normally eat.  One morning he sets out to find something he thinks he could eat.  He meets many of his friends along the way who offer to help him, and he finally discovers that he does like leaves.  Just Try It, Georgie! introduces African animals as fun, lovable characters and is filled with interesting facts about each animal in the story.  Christy hopes the book will not only be a book children enjoy to hear over and over again, but also provide a starting place for a conversation about trying new foods.

If you are interested in reading the book, it is available through the Columbus Metropolitan Library.  The book can be purchased online through amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com or through one of the local sales, highlighted on the Just Try It Georgie! Facebook page as they are scheduled.  Christy will be at the NW Columbus Macaroni Kid Halloween Kid's Zone at Historic Dublin Trick-or-Treat Saturday, October 29th from 1-4, and books will be available to buy and can be personalized.
