Recipe for Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Chips

By Lisa Lyda, Owner of Meal Thyme LLC September 2, 2026

Fall is my favorite time of year!  Cooler temperatures (hopefully), beautiful fall foliage and apple season!  I’m sure you have a few leftover apples and they need using up!

I have the perfect recipe your whole family will love!  Best of all, it’s flexible, and uses what you have on hand!  ðŸ˜Š

The following recipe is A-Mazing!

Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Chips!

Ingredients:

Fruit Salsa~
2 Apples (choose Gala, Fuji, Jonagold or any kind you have on hand)
1lb Strawberries
2 Pears
2 Kiwi
2 tsp lemon juice or half a lemon juiced
1 tsp sugar

Cinnamon Tortilla Chips~ or purchase Stacy’s brand cinnamon pita chips!
10 flour tortillas
Cooking Spray
1/3 cup Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions:

First, prepare the chips~
1. Preheat your oven to 350*.
2. Combine the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
3. Stack your tortillas and slice them into wedge shapes.  Place the slices into a medium bowl and spray with cooking spray.
4.  Add the cinnamon and sugar into the bowl and toss the tortilla wedges to coat.  Spread in a single layer on a sprayed baking sheet.
5.  Bake for 8-11 minutes or until crisp.

Fruit Salsa~
1. Dice all of the fruit and feel free to add or take away any fruits you like!  Blueberries, peaches, nectarines etc..
2. Add the lemon juice, sugar and toss to combine.
3. Allow salsa to sit at room temperature for at least 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Delicious served as an after school snack, at a football gathering, as a topping for oatmeal or yogurt.  It also compliments baked chicken or fish!  YUM!
