A New Way for Families to Stay at Events

May 5, 2026

For many families with infants, attending events isn’t always easy.

What should be a simple outing can quickly turn into leaving early, sitting in a car, or searching for a private place to feed, change, or care for a baby. For many parents and caregivers, that experience can feel isolating and overwhelming.

The Nursing Nest was created to change that.

This Central Ohio nonprofit provides a calm, private environment at events where families can breastfeed, pump, feed, change and care for their babies comfortably. The setup includes a comfortable chair, a quiet space and a changing table. Any caregiver is welcome with their baby, no matter their gender or feeding journey.

By removing small but meaningful barriers, families can stay, connect and feel supported in their community. For many mothers, that support can help reduce stress during a season that can otherwise feel isolating.

As May is Maternal Mental Health Month, this kind of support highlights how small, practical changes can help reduce isolation and make it easier for families to stay connected in their community.
