September means summer is ending, the kids head back to school, and the transition to fall fun can begin! But those aren't the only things to mark down this month. Here are 10 holidays and events your family can recognize in September:

National Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza Days
What? Two days to celebrate pizza this month? Why not?!?
Celebrate National Cheese Pizza Day first, and then a few weeks later, mark National Pepperoni Pizza Day! Order out from a family favorite like Black Dog Pizzeria in Dublin (closed Mondays) or grill your own pizza to celebrate. The kids will thank you!
Sept. 5 and Sept. 20
National Read a Book Day
Today is the perfect opportunity to make some time to read. Read something you love and read with your kids. We hope you share the joy of reading with them every day, but especially today.
Sept. 6
National Grandparents Day
Grandparents are special. If your children's grandparents are local, spend time showing them just how important they truly are to your family. If they aren't local, plan ahead and send a handmade card and some recent photos of the kids or make a Family Tree Craft with the kids.
Sept. 8
National Day of Service and Remembrance
Sept. 11 is a day to reflect on the devastating 2001 attacks that changed our country so much. Remember those we lost and give thanks to the first responders.
Sept. 11
National Cheeseburger Day
There are so many delicious spots around town to grab a burger.
Our family is a big fan of Swenson's Hilliard for "fast food", or The Thurman Cafe for a sit down meal.
Where is your favorite spot to enjoy a cheeseburger?
Sept. 18
International Talk Like a Pirate Day
Ahoy, Matey! Have fun and talk like a pirate today.
Sing and dance along pirate style, with Sharky and Bones here!
