Enjoy an evening of old-fashioned Halloween fun at All Hallows’ Eve at the Ohio Village. See our ticket GIVEAWAY below! All Hallows’ Eve features a retelling of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by the bonfire, pumpkin carving and spooky characters roaming Ohio Village on October 12th and 19th from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.
- Hear from Haunted Ohio author Chris Woodyard about Victorian mourning traditions
- Watch a Punch and Judy puppet show performance of The Legend of Sleepy Hallow
- Learn how pumpkin carving, mask-making, and other popular Halloween traditions got their start
- Follow the lit pumpkin path to the amphitheater and watch for the ghostly apparition of the Headless Horseman, as our storyteller retells Washington Irving’s famous story
- Take part in a 19th-century masquerade party and try traditional dancing
- Make your own mask, carve a pumpkin and enjoy hot cider
- Explore the traditions of fortune-telling and learn about astrology, sortilege, and runes
- Play Victorian parlor games
- Hear from the fascinating characters who roam Ohio Village and ask them about their All Hallows' Eve celebrations
- Explore the funeral parlor and learn about 19th-century funeral practices
