Five Parks in Powell You Will Want to Visit With Your Kids

By Erica Marlatt, NW Columbus Macaroni Kid Ambassador Mom August 20, 2020

We are lucky in Powell to have so many great playgrounds and parks to explore. From swings to slides, to climbing walls and water features, Powell’s parks and playgrounds keep my kids active, are a great place to meet old friends (and make new! friends), and they're FREE!

I often get asked what our favorite playgrounds are, so I thought I'd share here with you my family's picks for our top five playgrounds and parks to visit in Powell.

Locations are listed alphabetically:

Adventure Park
260 Adventure Park Drive

What we love about Adventure Park:

Honestly, this is probably our favorite park in the Powell area. It’s not huge But it is a lot of fun! My youngest loves the sand area. My 8-year-old loves that there is a tunnel underground! We also love that when you are walking around the path and there are signs with games and activities to help you get active and have fun as a family!

Amenities at Adventure Park:

  • Basketball court
  • Shelter house
  • Skate park
  • Picnic tables
  • Two play structures
  • Restrooms
  • Little library

Arbor Ridge Park
500 Bennett Parkway

What we love about Arbor Ridge:

This park is pretty cool because it has a few things you don’t see at other parks, including a Clifford and a dinosaur you can bounce on! You can also take a walk through the community gardens and look at what everyone planted!

Amenities at Arbor Ridge:

• Handicapped accessible
• Tennis courts
• Walking path
• Gardens
• Restrooms
• Open field

Library Park
420 South Liberty St

What we love about Library Park:

This one is super cute and the girls love it.  It’s right by the library so you could easily make an entire morning of it! It has great play structures for all ages, and it’s got a great shaded area for a picnic!

Amenities at Library Park:

• Benches
• Tables
• Wheelchair accessible
• Beautiful trees

Murphy Park
47 Murphy Parkway

What we love about Murphy Park:

K asks to go here all the time! It’s tucked away just enough to be calm and pretty quiet. It’s great for both girls and it’s Super close to Handels so we can stop for ice cream after!

Amenities at Murphy Park:

• Two playgrounds
• Shelter house
• Restrooms
• Benches
• Picnic tables
• Walking path

Village Green Park
47 Hall St

What we love about Village Green Park:
This park has great open fields and a few fun pieces we don’t see at other parks like A little train and a climbing web. There is also a really cute splash pad attached to it (closed this year though).

Amenities at Village Green:

• Walking path
• Tables
• Splash pad
• Pond
• Benches

Hope this list of top four playgrounds and parks in Powell helps you find -- or rediscover! -- some fun places for your family to explore this summer. Now get those kids out to play!
