What we love about Highbanks Metro Park:
Whether you’re hiking trails, enjoying the playgrounds, or taking in the meadow views, it’s hard to run out of things to do at Highbanks Metro Park in Lewis Center. The trails are kid-friendly for the most part (although I did end up ditching our stroller and looping back for it). We also loved the playgrounds! There are slides, swings, and climbing structures. I packed a lunch, and the only difficulty we ran into was picking a spot to enjoy it. There are tons of picnic tables and shelters, and they all have amazing views. Along the Scenic River Trail, we found our favorite part. The Olentangy River runs parallel to the trail. We could climb down and explore along the river, along the banks, and up the sides of the ravine. It will be fun to get back and check out the nature center.
